VICAM SNAP! is a Stationary Auto ID System for:

  • manually sorting large envelopes
  • recording of parcels at goods receipt
  • recording returns
  • picking goods for shipment
  • checking orders in goods outward
  • Pick-to-Light/Put-to-Light applications
  • Sort-by-Voice applications

For both manual handling and sorting in distribution and logistics centers or for parcel service providers: The compact VICAM SNAP! auto ID system captures and processes barcodes and 2D codes far more quickly than laser scanners.

Thanks to its unusually high reading capability, operators can use the VICAM SNAP! multicode reading system to move the goods (e.g. small items, containers or large envelopes) beneath the matrix camera with both hands and at high speed. The large reading area (310 mm x 260 mm x 300 mm) enables goods to be handled intuitively and quickly. With its large reading area, the VICAM SNAP! auto-ID system can record codes that are damaged, low in contrast or poorly printed on a range of surfaces, including behind foil. It can even capture the smallest of codes and several codes located close together. The efficient auto-ID system enables faster manual sorting and higher throughput rates.

Identification runs continuously, fully automatically and with no manual triggers. The auto-ID system, installed above the workstation, reads all standard barcodes and 2D codes (including colored codes on a colored background) while the package is passed beneath the camera. It displays images in real time and automatically archives all the data captured. The VICAM SNAP! has a configurable database link. So fully automated database reconciliations can be accurately carried out. For maximum user-friendliness there is an integrated loudspeaker which provides configurable user instructions and acoustic signals while the package is being captured. The excellent read rate means that multiple read attempts are no longer required.
