Perfect 3D Scans for Figurines from the 3D Printer
Creating ready-to-print 3D scans of customers who want 3D figurines of themselves (sometimes called “3D mini-mes” or “3D selfies”) is often a time-consuming exercise for the owners of 3D scan stores. The scanner technology used is oftentimes slow and in need of extensive, lengthy post-processing before 3D printing is possible.

Scanning in Real Time without 3D Rendering
The VITUS BODYSCAN 3D body scanner is based on the laser triangulation technology. It scans a complete person or group fully automatically and creates a 3-dimensional colored image. This process takes – depending on the resolution – between 6 and 10 seconds, making the VITUS BODYSCAN significantly faster than a handheld 3D scanner.
The light-section method used enables customers and shop owners to view the results of a 3D scan directly on the screen. Similar to a photo studio, it can be quickly decided whether another scan should be made. If the results are satisfactory, the scan can be computed to a watertight mesh at the touch of a button.
Within minutes, the 3D scan is now ready to print. It is available as a WRL or OBJ file can be polished by manual post-processing. Nothing stands in the way of a speedy 3D print of a figurine now.
