Major German automobile manufacturer relies on VITRONIC inspection technology for battery manufacturing

A major German automobile manufacturer has equipped a new production line with inspection technology made by VITRONIC. The technology is used to inspect lithium-ion car battery modules with aluminum housings. The inspection of battery modules is of particular importance to the safe operation of hybrid vehicles and electrically powered vehicles. Both of these will be a growth market in the future.

VITRONIC receives another multi-million-euro order for surface inspection of engine parts as a complete system in robot cells

VITRONIC Roboterzellen bieten eine flexible In-Line-Oberflächenprüfung

Robot cells designed with VINSPEC made by VITRONIC use various machine vision techniques to inspect the visible, sealing and functional surfaces of metallic components. Camera-based surface and contour inspection with the robot cells ensure that defective components are detected at an early stage in the production process. The robot cell inspection also provides a cost-effective quality inspection and reworking concept. In the last year, VITRONIC has delivered and installed several turnkey robot cells for surface inspection. These robot inspection cells ensure that the same quality standards are upheld globally.

VINSPEC HEALTHCARE Track&Trace solutions and quality inspections

At the Pharma Congress in Düsseldorf from March 25 to 26, VITRONIC presented a variety of individual image processing solutions. These included solutions for quality inspection of vials, for assembly inspection and control, and for contour and dimensional accuracy. VITRONIC also provided visitors at its booth with the latest information about Track&Trace solutions. VINSPEC HEALTHCARE solutions offer GAMP-compliant serialization, identification, and data aggregation for reliable and transparent traceability.

Success story in the Healthcare area is set to continue

VITRONIC's "Industry" division experienced continued success with its machine vision solutions for medical device and pharmaceutical production. The total order value for VINSPEC HEALTHCARE was particularly impressive in 2013. The Healthcare area has developed very successfully, thanks to our successful collaboration with several partner companies in the mechanical engineering industry. VITRONIC supplies machine vision systems for automated quality inspection and identification. VINSPEC HEALTHCARE customers can rely on GAMP-compliant solutions. These cover everything from hardware to software and all associated services - all from a single source. Key areas of focus include inspection systems for vials, but also inspection systems for assembly and quality control in general. We also provide solutions for reading and verifying codes and characters.

VINSPEC SOLAR inspection systems impress in Asia

For efficient quality assurance of solar cells and modules, manufacturers require powerful inspection and classification solutions. They also need these solutions to be smoothly integrated into their production processes. Extensive benchmark testing was recently conducted by renowned solar cell manufacturers in Taiwan and China. In these tests, camera-based VINSPEC SOLAR inspection systems clearly led the field. The in-depth benchmark tests examined technical performance, reliability and reproducibility of the automated inspections offered by various Asian and European suppliers. With its VINSPEC SOLAR inspections systems, VITRONIC was well ahead of competitors in every respect. The VITRONIC solutions scored points by ensuring maximum quality even at significantly increased output rates. This means that slightly higher costs of investment very quickly deliver paypack.

Increase in photovoltaics manufacturing

Photovoltaics expert Hanwha Q Cells GmbH is making further investments in its manufacturing technology. It is relocating some of its production lines from Thalheim to its site in Malaysia. This site is to be expanded on an ongoing basis. During the course of these activities, existing VITRONIC VINSPEC SOLAR inspection systems were modernized and upgraded with new color camera systems. As a result, VITRONIC won an exceptionally large new order from this customer at the end of last year. Since the end of 2013, production capacities are also being increased in the Asian markets. In addition, existing lines are being extended. Further investment is being made in Taiwan in particular. Several dozen VINSPEC SOLAR inspection systems to the value of several million euros have been ordered to date. Some of these systems are already up and running.
