A few months ago, VITRONIC painted the daycare rooms as part of the “Wiesbaden Engagiert” initiative. Now they are back for another visit to teach the children how to stay safe in traffic. After all the children have learned about road signs, they put on their jackets and safety vests and form pairs. Together with our colleague Sebastian, they go outside the daycare center and get started: they practice hand signals, stopping at the curb, and looking left and right. The trainers treat the children with patience, respect, and a smile. The scenes seem familiar and real. This is exactly what helps the children internalize what they have learned. Back at the daycare center, the children receive workbooks and the official school route pass and look forward to writing their names in them. They curiously leaf through the books, showing each other the pictures and tasks.

Learning through play, acting safely

VITRONIC employees were trained by the German Traffic Safety Association. They teach clear rules, use simple language, and create an atmosphere of trust. The aim is to impart knowledge and boost children's self-confidence.

Sebastian Freutel
It's fulfilling to see the joy and curiosity of the children and how even a short lesson already raised their awareness for different risks in traffic. Any accident involving children that can be avoided by that awareness is already a big success.”
Sebastian FreutelSoftware Manager BU Traffic

VITRONIC develops speed monitoring systems and intelligent sensor technology that protect lives. At the same time, the company shows that safety is also a human task. Its involvement in the daycare center highlights how important it is to support children at an early age.

Twelve employees have volunteered to be trained. They invest time, energy, and passion to teach children, parents, and educators the basics of road safety. The partnership with Verkehrswacht Wiesbaden shows how companies and non-profit organizations can take responsibility together. The Vision Zero Heroes stand for safe mobility and a corporate culture that takes a stand.

VITRONIC has been involved in Road Safety Day for years. With creative campaigns, educational offerings, and technology. In 2023, Captain Safety was launched, a friendly “speed camera” with a superhero mission. This was followed in 2024 by the training of the Vision Zero Heroes. And in 2025, the first comic book featuring Captain Safety and his new friend will be published.

After the training, the children know how to cross the road safely. They understand why you should never blindly follow an adult across the road or why you should not cross the road behind a sign or car.

What remains is a feeling of safety, trust, and appreciation. For VITRONIC, traffic training is another step toward Vision Zero: no fatalities or serious injuries in road traffic.

Because we care.
