After a break of two years, VITRONIC is delighted to shine a spotlight on traffic safety once again this year with the return of its successful “POLISCAN Forum”. Around 75 invited guests representing regulatory authorities and police forces spent an eventful day attending presentations, discussions and a product show devoted to the topics of traffic safety and traffic monitoring. The focus was on practical demonstrations, e.g., of the video alarm system for the Enforcement Trailer and the enhanced RC3 remote camera (for additional rear or front vehicle images), which gave guests a fascinating insight into the latest product developments at VITRONIC. The event was held at the “Kupferberg Terrassen” conference venue in Mainz.

Experience, theory and practice provide a complete picture

One of the speakers was Stefan Pfeiffer – Police Chief and Head of the Traffic Inspectorate of Feucht (in Bavaria) – who discussed the many and varied challenges faced by police forces when seeking to prosecute traffic violations, especially those committed by motorcyclists. His personal experiences with the highway patrol made a real and emotional impression on all who were there. The Product Management team from VITRONIC presented one possible solution for the specific challenge presented by motorcyclists in its product demonstration of the new RC3 remote camera. For this purpose, an access road behind the venue was temporarily closed off to enable the simulation of motorcycle speed offenses.

Networking with experts and insiders

To close the event, representatives from VITRONIC and selected guests discussed the challenges of urban traffic safety in the format of a podium discussion. Kirsten Lühmann, a former police officer and former member of the German parliament and transport policy spokesperson for the SPD parliamentary group, guided everyone through the program for the day, which also included plenty of opportunities for networking in a pleasant atmosphere.

The entirely positive feedback from our guests demonstrates that, this year, we have once again managed to stage a very successful event. It’s not without reason that the Poliscan Forum is considered the most important event in the German traffic market.”
