VITRONIC, a Wiesbaden-based company, has reason to celebrate—its 2,000th POLISCAN measuring system for the German market will be produced and delivered this year. The "milestone system" will be used by the Saxony Police Department. The order comprises a total of twelve systems for mobile use on tripods. The systems will be distributed to six police stations to ensure greater traffic safety on Saxony's roads at accident hotspots on federal highways and throughout the road network.

We are very proud to continue a long and successful tradition with our 2,000th POLISCAN system. We are all the more pleased to be able to present our "milestone measuring device" to a new customer, namely the Saxony Police Department. The fact that we have won over this discerning customer with our technology makes us proud.

Modern and Efficient Technology - Made in Wiesbaden

POLISCAN measurement systems have been ensuring greater road safety on German roads since 2006. Laser-based and without in-road equipment, the in-novative technology ensures precise measurement results. POLISCAN sys-tems automatically record all vehicles on several lanes and in up to two direc-tions. This ensures seamless and legally compliant capture of speed violations, even in heavy traffic. In addition, POLISCAN is designed as a platform solution. This means that a measurement system can be used for stationary, mobile, and semi-stationary speed monitoring.

A platform for every challenge

Depending on the requirements of the monitoring station, an appropriate hous-ing and accessories are used: on a tripod, in a pillar, in an enforcement trailer, or in a patrol car. POLISCAN systems also monitor red light phases at intersec-tions, measuring the speed of passing vehicles during all traffic light phases — all in one device. Mobile units that can be operated in a stationary position if re-quired, monitoring of priority lanes, license plate checks, toll enforcement and even average speed control—there is much more that is technically possible to-day.

The 2,000th POLISCAN anniversary system will soon go into service with the Saxony Police.

Excessive speed has been one of the main causes of accidents in Germany for years.
Wolfhard Hack Advisor for Traffic Police Tasks at the Saxon State Ministry of the Interior.

"That's why speed control as part of traffic monitoring is so important. For this purpose, the Saxon Police Department needs reliable, robust, and user-friendly technology. VITRONIC and its POLISCAN was awarded the order," explains Wolfhard Hack

At VITRONIC, we will honor the 2,000th milestone of POLISCAN in Germany all year long. At the same time, the company will honor numerous employees, cus-tomers, and partners who have made POLISCAN a model of success.
