VITRONIC, a global leader in industrial machine vision, is expanding its solution portfolio for the photovoltaics production industry. At SNEC PV Power Expo 2019, which takes place June 3-6 in Shanghai, VITRONIC will present its comprehensive portfolio of optical inspection systems. This includes numerous new products that the company will unveil at the leading international exhibition for photovoltaics.

New products at SNEC

VITRONIC’s new, modular matrix system uses the “one base fits all” principle. PV manufacturers benefit from a single product platform that can be equipped with a variety of camera and lighting systems and integrated flexibly in production lines. With this flexibility, companies are able to ideally meet the inspection requirements of each process step, including coating, printing and sorting. The modular matrix system can be customized to accommodate a wide range of cell designs and future inspection requirements, always ensuring the best quality inspection results.

Another highlight at SNEC is VITRONIC’s innovative solution for post-print inspection. The smart system offers optical inspection with maximum resolution and also provides data that can be used for process optimizations. These features enable an optical inspection to detect the smallest variations in print screens, making it possible to take an immediate corrective action by changing a tool. Together with short feedback loops, the highest level of quality throughout the individual production steps and maximum efficiency are achieved.

Smart software supports the process

Technology is subject to constant change. That is why VITRONIC experts continuously implement improvements and add new functions to hardware and software. VITRONIC will present for the first time its new Chinese user interface for the VISOLAR 3 software solution at SNEC. In addition to being intuitive, the solution also offers numerous smart features and analysis tools, such as the Classification Editor.

The early detection of defects through integrated trend analyses and evaluations using heat maps prevent deviations in quality. Data correlation within and between production facilities consistently optimize the manufacturing process.

With more than 2,000 installed systems, VITRONIC has built a strong partnership with the PV industry. The VINSPEC SOLAR portfolio offers tried and tested automatic optical inspection (AOI) systems for PV production, from start to finish. Furthermore, PV manufacturers can use data obtained during the inspection process in a variety of ways, for example, to optimize production processes and achieve a higher output.
