On October 23, 2025, Sebastian Freutel, an employee of VITRONIC and member of the Vision Zero Heroes initiative, visited the Philipp Holl daycare center. A few months earlier, several VITRONIC employees had painted the daycare center's rooms as part of the “Wiesbaden engagiert” initiative.
Since it is important that traffic education begins as early as possible, the twelve Vision Zero Heroes were trained by the German Traffic Watch to educate children about road safety. With the help of the “Captain Safety” speed camera and a comic book, this is done in a playful and easy-to-understand way.
After an introduction to the meaning of traffic signs, the children learned how to behave safely in traffic through practical exercises. Clear examples were used to show them how to correctly assess different traffic situations and cross the road safely. At the end, the children received learning materials and entered their names in the official school route pass.
Safety and building self-confidence are the top priorities of this campaign. This is another step toward achieving Vision Zero: no fatalities or serious injuries in road traffic.
