In the 40 years since its foundation, VITRONIC has grown to become one of the world's leading drivers of innovation in the transport technology and automation sectors with a wide range of projects: Equipping one of the largest logistics centers in Frankfurt as well as the USA, nationwide development of road safety technology and toll solutions in traffic infrastructure in Europe and the Middle East, inspecting batteries of the latest electric vehicles, to name just a few examples

A global impact that started in Germany

Founder Dr. Norbert Stein took the first steps at VITRONIC in his living room. On long evenings in the German city Wiesbaden, he worked on the first pioneering systems, such as an advanced optical navigation system for automated, driverless transport vehicles.

After only a short time, the living room became too small, the ideas too big.

The first move to new office premises was imminent in order to keep pace with the constant progress of projects, growing headcount and production capacity. But the space quickly became too small again. More and more new fields of application and projects were added and so we moved again in 1989, just five years after the company was founded: To Hasengartenstrasse 14, our headquarters to this day.

We are now a global player in our field with 1,400 employees worldwide. It became clear early on that the technology offered great potential in many different sectors and countries. For example, the combination of different technologies made it possible to identify barcodes on industrial containers for the first time in 1986. Projects like this and in other industries quickly led to exciting partnerships and important projects abroad and transformed us into a global company. A VITRONIC Group network has been established in over 80 countries worldwide, enabling us to achieve worldwide success. Across borders, we ensure outstanding service and sales locally and are close to our customers.

Some of our key milestones:
