VITRONIC opens new test site at Biebricher Allee / corner of Gibberstraße, further expanding its commitment to Wiesbaden as a business location. The facility will be used to test innovative traffic measurement technology under real-world conditions. Together with Wiesbaden's Head of Department for Traffic and Construction, City Councilor Andreas Kowol, VITRONIC Managing Director Daniel Scholz-Stein officially opened the new research and test site. The aim is to further develop technologies in a targeted manner and thus strengthen traffic safety in the long term – in line with Vision Zero.
In the future, innovative concept models and prototypes based on different technological approaches in the field of traffic measurement technology will be tested at the site. In the currently installed test setup, an advanced concept model is being tested under real traffic conditions. The results are incorporated into the continuous optimization of existing technologies, e.g., modern traffic monitoring systems.
The system is used exclusively for research and development purposes and is not used to punish administrative offenses. Technical measurement data is collected to analyze traffic flow without capturing images of drivers or specific license plates. Personal data is not collected, and no data is shared with third parties. The collected data is always deleted within 72 hours.
For VITRONIC, the new test site is more than just a technical infrastructure. It is a clear commitment to Wiesbaden as a business and research location.

We are grateful to be able to operate this test site here in Wiesbaden. The proximity to our development departments gives us a real home advantage. Together with the city, we are pursuing a clear goal: to further increase road safety. Our research contributes to Vision Zero— the long-term goal of preventing traffic accidents with serious or fatal consequences. The fact that we can develop these innovations here at our home base is a strong signal for us.”
