VITRONIC Dr.-Ing. Stein Bildverarbeitungssysteme, situated in Wiesbaden, Germany, is going to exhibit at the IMHX tradeshow which is going to take place in Birmingham from 24th to 27th September 2019. VITRONIC shows VIPAC SMALLS SORT, the all-in-one solution for the data capture and sorting of small packages and shipments in one single system.
The advantages for CEP service providers are obvious: one system solution, one single contact. VIPAC SMALLS SORT was launched earlier this year at the LogiMAT tradeshow. The intelligent and modular sorting system was awarded “Best Product”.

Our Auto-ID systems have been reading codes and plain text for years, measuring volumes, recording weights and providing the data for logistic 4.0. With VIPAC SMALLS SORT we now also offer our customers the automated sorting of smaller shipments. Because the increasing shipment volume makes greater automation necessary.
The system can be either used as a stand-alone solution within small hubs and depots, or it can be integrated within existing large-hub sortation processes. Each shipment passes through the infeed, DWS, outfeed, and sorting sections, and is then automatically discharged from the system at the desired point. Special software controls each step of the processes and allows real time data visualization.
VIPAC SMALLS SORT is configured to the individual sorting requirements of the customers and is suitable for very small consignments.
In the DWS section, VITRONIC Auto-ID systems identify all shipment data. In addition to capturing high-resolution images, the length, width, height and weight of the shipments are measured and recorded. The systems read and process barcodes, 2D codes and plain text (OCR). All data is automatically saved in the archive system, providing valuable logistic 4.0 insights to accelerate processes in distribution centers and thereby reduce costs.
