Radar-based speed measurement
The modern radar technology of the Poliscan Enforcement Bar provides highly accurate speed measurement, even while driving. Up to five lanes can be monitored simultaneously in the direction of travel, with both approaching and departing vehicles being captured, and up to two lanes when the patrol car is standing at the side of the road.
In the event of a speeding violation, the system automatically calculates the optimal photo point and links evidence images with measured speed and GPS data – all without additional hardware in the car or calibration – and notifies the officers. This automation makes speed monitoring more comprehensive and simultaneously easier.
AI-enabled ALPR
In addition to speeding, the Poliscan Enforcement Bar captures license plates via ANPR across up to five lanes, as well as the color, make and model of vehicles. The system can distinguish between a wide range of vehicle classes, enabling the enforcement of differentiated speed limits for different vehicles.
To do so, the system applies powerful AI-driven software that automatically scans the surrounding area to the right, left, rear and front of the vehicle in real time using cameras – whether the patrol car is stationary or moving.
These state-of-the-art features and the solution's industry-leading reading rate, even at high driving speeds, greatly reduce the time and effort required to locate and identify vehicles of interest.
Instant feedback for officers
When the system scans a vehicle, it immediately compares the collected data with the user's or their agency's database of wanted, stolen, or other vehicles of interest. If there is a match, officers are instantly alerted with a signal and visual notification on their vehicle's laptop or tablet.
This makes the smart Enforcement Bar a real-time information hub that improves the time needed for traffic enforcement as well as the response time of officers, allowing pursuit to begin immediately. At the same time, it increases their safety: with more information, they are better prepared when stopping vehicles.
Integrated live video feed for real-time monitoring
What completes the all-in-one solution for light bars is an integrated continuously operating video surveillance. A video recording feature automatically captures the vehicle’s surroundings once the Enforcement Bar is activated. This ensures that evidence is reliably preserved.
In addition, police officers in the back office can access the live stream to monitor the area around the vehicle. This enables them to assess the situation in real time and dispatch assistance in high-risk situations.
Experienced in data protection
Data protection is a key priority for all our systems. The data collected by our smart Poliscan Enforcement Bar is encrypted and transferred on a customer-specific basis, and is subject to fixed deletion periods. Data that is not linked to any violations or does not match any entries in the police database is not forwarded and deleted immediately. This way, our system provides security on every level.
